Privacy policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Yum Yum in My Tum is a recipe app made by ToggleKit in the United Kingdom. This policy says what happens to your information when you use it.
The short version
- We do not collect your data. We have no server, no accounts, no analytics and no ads.
- Your recipes, photos, lists and meal plans stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud account.
- We cannot see them, and we cannot give them to anyone.
Where your data is kept
Everything you add (recipes, photos, notes, ratings, tags, cook log, shopping list, meal plan and settings) is kept on your iPhone. If iCloud is on, Apple also keeps a copy in your private iCloud database, so it reaches your other devices. Apple's privacy policy covers iCloud: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Sharing with your Household
You can invite people to your Household. Only people you invite can join. Members can see and change the Household's recipes, lists and meal plan. Apple's iCloud sharing does this. We are not part of it.
Members also see:
- the name you choose in Settings, or your iCloud name if you choose none, next to things you add;
- that you bought Unlimited, if you did, because one purchase unlocks the whole Household.
You can leave a Household at any time in Settings. You keep a copy of everything. The owner can remove a member.
Adding recipes
- Links. When you add a link, your iPhone fetches that web page and its photo straight from the website, the same as opening it in Safari. The website sees a normal visit from your iPhone.
- Photos and text. Text in a photo is read on your iPhone. Apple Intelligence sorts the text into a recipe on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us or to an AI company.
- Files from Paprika or Mela. The file is read on your iPhone.
YouTube links
When you add a YouTube link, the app asks the YouTube Data API for that video's title and description. Google receives the video's id and your iPhone's IP address. The app uses YouTube API Services. By adding YouTube links you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's Privacy Policy applies to what Google receives. The app does not sign you in to Google and keeps nothing from YouTube except the recipe you save.
Permissions
The app asks only when you use the feature:
- Camera: to take a photo of a recipe.
- Microphone and speech recognition: to hear "next" and "back" while you cook. Recognition runs on your iPhone where the iPhone supports it. On older iPhones Apple may process it (Apple's dictation privacy).
- Calendar: to add a slow cooker reminder to the calendar you choose.
- Notifications: for cooking timers and reminders. These are made on your iPhone.
Purchases
Apple handles the Unlimited purchase. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether this Apple Account (or your Apple family) owns Unlimited.
App Store statistics
If you agreed to share data with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple gives us totals such as downloads and crashes. These do not identify you. Apple's policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Children
The app is not made for children under 13.
Your rights
Because we do not hold your data, you control all of it:
- See or copy it: Settings, Export library. You get every recipe and photo in a file.
- Delete it: delete recipes in the app, or delete the app. To delete the iCloud copy: iPhone Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Storage (wording varies by iOS version), Yum Yum, Delete Data.
- Leave a Household: Settings, Household, Leave.
Under UK GDPR you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Please contact us first so we can help.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top and say what changed in the app's release notes.
